Students enrolled in the mediation clinic mediate disputes referred from several sources. The clinic maintains partnerships with the Magistrate and State Courts of Athens-Clarke County, The Mediation Center of Savannah and UGA Housing. Mediations are conducted in-person and online. A weekly two-hour class combines assessment of completed cases with discussions of mediation theory and practice, and students receive feedback and evaluation from the clinical supervisor.

Clinical students embrace the responsibility of handling their own cases and stepping directly into a professional role. Mediating affords clinical students real world experience as a professional responsible for delivering a valuable service to disputing parties.

Three credit hours. Prerequisite: Mediation Practicum Prospective students should check application requirements or contact the clinical supervisor.
